MANSOFO ADA PRIMARY SCHOOL LACKS INFRASTRUCTURES

MANSOFO ADA PRIMARY SCHOOL LACKS INFRASTRUCTURES

Mansofo is a village located in the central region of Ghana, Agona east precisely. Despite the village’s agricultural contribution to the economy, the village cannot boast of a good road or electricity. The only school located in the village is the Mansofo A.D.A primary school which serves the village and other neighboring villages like Kurow fitaamu, Townhall, Asaasekwaa and the likes.

JHS Students from the village always walk about three miles from the village to attend school in Mensakrom the next village. Students complain that they always get exhausted before they get to school, and because of that they are not able to do any active work before or after school. Again their uniforms gets very dirty every day.

The only primary school in the area hasn’t got enough buildings to contain the students; they attend school in the Pentecost church located close to the school. When there are church activities then students would have to attend classes under trees or close for the day.               Again, the primary school in the area does not have toilet facilities.  Primary pupils who want to ease themselves would have to do so at the dag toilet  referred to as ‘Atonkon’   located in the outskirt of the town which is very bushy. The toilet is in a deplorable situation and it likely that a pupil can even fall into it. Residents complained that they sometimes fall victims to snake attacks. The fear is that a snake can bite a resident or the pupils may end up falling into it due to the big hole covered with roof sheets
