PRIVATE SHS DYING OUT


Conference of heads Heads of private Instritutions (CHOPS) have called on the government to bring back the four year SHS educational system. The institution through its vice chairman who doubles as the director of the AJumako Senior High School Mr. Alex Arthur lamented on the problems the 3 years educational trend is posing to students. He gave the break down of the terms and what happens.
He explained that the three years educational system and the mass promotion exercise  introduced has drastically reduced the number of students private schools recieve and as such collapsing their schools, exsample is the Ajumako SHS. Speaking of their profit margin he said it has reduced from 60percent to a deficit.
Mr. Alex Arthur through (chops) advised  the government to go in for the 3 years educational system and edged government to give private schools their due by allow some students for them and again providing them with educal materials like books, buses, computers and etc.

CENTRAL REGIONAL A.G INSTALLS NEW RIGIONAL SUPRINTENDENT

The Central Regional assemblies of God church have installed a new regional suprintendent named Rev. Christian Essandoh. Rev Essandoh who holds his masters in divinity,  diploma in theology etc hashas served the church for soo many years and has also helped to open soo many branches.
The speaker for the occassion  Rev. Christian Dzane, assist. Genaral Suprintendent charged all christians to be content with their own annointing and know that Moses annointing was differnt from elisha;s annointing and so appreciate what God has given them. do not envy others. He advised christians to stop resorting to pastors who predict the kind of underwears one put on..

SHOULD CHURCHES BE TAXED?



Lots of Ghanians have opined that churches in Ghana should be made to pay taxes. According to them pastors  make lots of money in the church room. This include seed sowing, Kofi and Ama etc. others explained that they would be fulfilling their civic responsibilities if they pay taxes. However lots of pastors have have registered their displeasure about this issue.

CHILD EATS THROUGH TUBE



Young Ataa Boakye aged 4 years, comes from Agona Swedru in the central region. When she was 3 years old she mistakenly took in soda used in soap production thinking it was water after eating one day. She collapsed and was sent to the Asikuma Government hospital but was reffered to korlebu teaching hospital.
After receiving treatment for 2 months, the sore in her throat died but unfortunately the throat got choked up. Since then Ataa Boakye has been unable to eat through her throat. Doctors operated her and inserted a tube into her stomache through which her mother can feed her through.
During meal time, Ataa takes her food as usual like the other children, she put the food into her mouth, licks it and spit it out because the food can not pass through her throat. She is Only fed with liquid foods .
Doctors are demanding for 50 million for the second face of the operation to commence. Father of the child cannot be tracked ever since the incident occurred. the mother has sold all her belongs to take care of her. She currently begs on the street before eating. BIG CATCH FOR ABOAKYIR FESTIVAL



Aboakyir  is a renouned  Ghanian festival celebrated by the people of Simpa in may each year. The festival is used to receive a productive harvest and spiritual guidance from the gods for the coming year
Aboakyir which is one of the most celebrated and memorable traditional festivals in the country took turn again this year and attracted people from all walks life. Present were the central regional minister HonourableE. K.T Addo, Winneba M.C.E Nii Ephraim, CapeCoast M.C.E  Honourable Pricilla Arhin the deputy regional minister and MP for agona East, honourable Quenstar Pokuah Sawyer,…….
The theme for this years celebration was PEACE ANDE UNITY THE KEY TO DEVELOPMENT. The Central Regional minister addressed the garthering and appealed to Naananom to create investor friendly environment to facilitate economic growth and development. He also admonished drivers to avoid reckless driving and carniage on our roads. He finally presented 8 crates of drinks, 2 bottle of schnapps and an undisclosed amount to Nanaanom.
The District Chief Executive noted that the involvement of the Efutu municipal assembly is purely to attract investments
The Tufuhene of the Efutu Traditional Area drew the governments attention to the much twice said promise of the construction of a landing site, Modern Market Complex at winneba junction and an oil refinery at Efutu Gyangyanadze to be constructed for them.

CONFUSION ROCKS ABOAKYIR FESTIVAL



Deer cathing in aboakyir festival is the major expedion that makes the festival extra ordinary. It came about as an appreciation to a god called  Otu  whome the people believed protected them from all dangers during their migration to their present location.
On Saturday of the celebration, the two Asafo Companies (warriors)namely TUAFO NO. 1 and DENSTEFO NO 2 in Winneba  set out on a hunting expedition to catch a live deer and present it to the chief to step on it at the durbar grounds. The first group to present the deer to the chief is declared winner  and highly regarded for bravery.
After long hours of waiting The deer to climax the celebration of the aboakyir festival for this year was presented by the DENTSI ASAFO COMPANY after long hours of waiting. The other Asafo group TUAFO couldn’t make any catch  for the year.  However the celebration turned rioty when another group wanted to snatch the deer from the simpa people.                                                       
According to Atsu who is believed to have caught the dear,  the simpa people fought with him and took the dear from him after he caught the animal. He says the simpa people are lazy and always rely on them for the catch and after takes it from them. He opined that, this is the second time this has happened to him however peace was restored by the police personnel around.

OBREMPON FM ORGANISES BLOOD DONATION EXERCISE



Obrempon fm, an Agona Swedru based FM station has organized a blood donation exercise to support the blood bank at the swedru government Hospital. The exercise which is organized by the radio station every April 26 as part of their cooperate resposibilty has taken place for the third time since 2012.
The exercise dubbed “Drop a blood to save a life organized at the Metro Mass Transit Bus station, was supervised by health officials from the swedru municipal hospital and patronized by members of the public. Speaking on behalf of the swedru municipal hospital, Mr. Nkansah micheal, a   Biomedical Laboratory scientist of the hospital noted some challenges of the hospital as
Lacking blood in the blood bank that can serve the whole encatchment area which comes as a result of lots of emergency cases referred to the facility from nearby hospitals which requires adequate blood to deal with such situations. , it is in the light of this that there is the need to shore up the pints of blood at the hospitals blood bank to prevent death as a results of blood shortage.
            The general manager of the station Nana Yaw Ayensu said as part of their cooperate social society they hope to stock the Agona swedru blood bank by donating. They also give out donor certificate from the ministry of education and some items to everybody that donates.
