UTAG SUSPENDS INTENDED STRIKE




The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has suspended its intended strike until the expiration of the negotiation period. Utag threatened to embark on strike on Tuesday  april 16 2014if the National Counsel for Tertiary Education fails to initiate process to pay their book and research allowances for the 2013/2014 academic year.  this latest development follows meeting with the national labour authority and government representatives including jane nana opoku agyeman minister of education.
            In an intervieiw with a lecturer and member of Utag . mr. Bright Amoah, they are still negotiating with the government to listen to their plea too. If it is headed to then they cancel the pending   strike but if they don’t pay their allowance then the strike will sure come on. However students of the university of education winneba has appealed to the government to pay what ever is due them to ensure smooth academic calendar.
